Converted Micro Fibres

Converted Micro Fibres (CMF), Graphene Canada’s model is centred around maximizing the energy extracted from waste. This process starts by employing a Converter, the Converter is the first step in the process that waste moves through on its way to becoming Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) for green power generation.

Patented Converter Technology

A true circular approach to recapturing energy that remains in waste. This system does not use chemicals, combustion, microwaves or pressure in the process.

The Converter is patented technology that treats waste without any pollution, with zero emissions of any harmful substances into the environment. It based on the principle of mechanical to thermal energy transformation, hence the machines can reach an optimal sterilization temperature of 150°C, without the use of high pressure.

One of the major benefits of this system is that the incoming waste does not have to be sorted, by size or material, moisture, or biological hazardous waste. The benefit being that mixed waste can be brought into a single plant in a clean, silent and odorless environment that meets urban infrastructure while drastically reducing waste transport costs.

Once the waste is gone through the converter its weight has been reduced by 50% and volume by 80%. At that point what it is left is Converted Micro Fibres. That fuel is now used through the WtE facility where the energy is extracted. Benefit of this type of process is that it does not require outside power to operate, the system generates sufficient power to be self-sufficient and the excess electric energy generated becomes the green energy that is returned to the grid. What is left after the process is ash, used in the making of cement or fertilizer in agriculture.
